Every season we see some wild things in the NFL due to free agency and parity in the league. Let’s take a look at my bold predictions for the NFC in 2020.
#1 Giants take Home field Advantage
Not a misprint. With new Head Coach Joe Judge, I expect this Giants organization to be no-nonsense this year. Saquan Barkley, Danny Dimes, Darius Slayton, Evan Engram, and that defense have the potential to go from bottom-feeders to a bye week.
#2 Dak Prescott Gets Benched
With Mike McCarthy coming in if Dak doesn’t sign a long term deal he could be on the hot seat. McCarthy doesn’t have any ties to Prescott so pulling the plug after a few bad outings is something that could be a reality.
#3 Mike Zimmer wins Coach of the Year
Coach Zimmer could have won this honor last year as the Vikings came back in a big way and finally found a way to help Kirk Cousins get it done in Primetime. The Vikings reloaded this offseason with 12 freaking draft picks. They will build off of their impressive season last year and it will be with new offensive and defensive coordinators.
#4 Buccaneers lose in the 1st Round
The good news is the Bucs will end their playoff drought this season. The bad news is they will get bounced in the first round. The NFC is stacked way different from the AFC which will come as a culture shock to Tom Brady.
#5 Matt Patricia Gets Fired Midseason
I’ve been saying this since Jim Caldwell was wrongfully relieved of his duties in Detroit. Matt Patricia is not Head Coach material. In 2 seasons the Lions have gone 9-22 under Patricia. Jim Caldwell in his last 2 seasons in Detroit went 18-14 posting back to back 9-7 seasons and saw the playoffs in 2016. This organization has always been an embarrassment and Caldwell’s firing cemented that.
What do you think about my 2020 NFC bold predictions? Can you see any of them happening?
