Ajax have resigned Dutch midfielder Davy Klaassen from Werder Bremen. Klaassen has signed a 4 year deal with the club.
Ajax have paid an €11 million fee for the midfielder which could potentially rise to €16 million with add-ons.
Klaassen originally left Ajax in 2017 moving to Everton, but the Dutch midfielder failed to nail down a first team spot in Merseyside and was subsequently sold to Werder Bremen after only 16 appearances.
Joining in 2018 Klaassen has played 77 games for the Bundesliga outfit scoring 16 goals. However, with hopes of one day making it back in the Netherlands international squad Klaassen has decided to return to the club he appeared 182 times for.
Klaassen will be available for Ajax’s next league game on the 17th October. They sit 5th in the Eredivise after their first lost if the season yesterday at the hands of FC Groningen.
