As the start of the NBA season is around the corner, COVID is still being a pain in the ass for a lot of teams. Some players are electing not to make the trip to Orlando and participate in the resumption of the season.

June 29th, 2020

Brooklyn Nets Center Deandre Jordan has tested positive for Covid-19 today. He has opted out for the NBA restart in Orlando. More terrible news for the Nets. NBA May replace this team as they are losing more players by the day.

Brooklyn Nets PG Spencer Dinwiddle has tested positive for Covid-19. He took a test last night, as has been experiencing chest tightness, and a fever for a few days. Spencer took another test today and both came out positive.

Brooklyn Nets Forward Wilson Chandler has opted out of returning with his team in Orlando for the NBA restart. Chandler reasoning for opting out is because of the health of his family. A huge loss for the Nets, as they also won’t have Kevin Durant, and possibly Kyrie Irving.

Lakers have officially signed Free Agent G JR Smith to a 1 year deal. After Lakers G Avery Bradley opted out of a return with the team due to the health of his family, the Lakers were in desperate needs to find his replacement. Talks have been ongoing with Smith, and today it’s official.

Malcolm Brogdon of the Indiana Pacers has tested positive for COVID-19. He said today that he plans to join his teammates in Orlando ASAP.

Lakers PG Avery Bradley has opted out on rejoining the Lakers in Orlando as his oldest son has a bad medical history and doesn’t want to risk it. Denver Nuggets star player C Nikola Jokic, who has been in his home country Serbia, recently tested positive for Covid-19 which has delayed his return back to the USA.

There have also been other NBA stars who have opted out of going to Orland, including the Portland Trailblazers Trevor Ariza, who also hinted that his return has a lot to do with family issues. Washington Wizards F Davis Bertans, Brooklyn Nets G Kyrie Irving, and Los Angeles Lakers C Dwight Howard remain undecided.

Now that the Lakers know that Avery Bradley has opted out, they may reach out to free agent G JR Smith, who has instant chemistry with superstar Lebron James. A lot of moving pieces for these selected NBA teams that will be making their way to Orlando very soon.
