Sadly today we have learned that Benjamin Keough, the son of singer Lisa-Marie Presley and grandson of music icon Elvis Presley has died from an apparent suicide.
It had been reported that Law enforcement sources told TMZ that Keough had died on Sunday in Calabasas, California from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. This is heartbreaking and sad news to hear.
Lisa Marie’s Presley’s Manager released a statement.
Lisa Marie Presley’s manager Roger Widynowski had confirmed the death. In a statement regarding Lisa Marie, he said, “She is completely heartbroken, inconsolable, and beyond devastated but trying to stay strong for her 11-year-old twins, and her oldest daughter Riley. She adored that boy. He was the love of her life.
Ben’s sister is actress, model, and musician Riley Keough. Riley is 30 and is married to Mad Max star Ben Smith-Petersen. Riley is famous for starring in horror films, which included the 2019 film “The Lodge.” Ben and Riley’s father is musician Danny Keough. Their grandparents are Elvis and Priscilla Presley. They also have two sisters twins Finley and Harper Lockwood. Their father is Lisa-Marie Presley’s Ex-husband Producer and musician Michael Lockwood.
Ben resembled his Grandfather Elvis.
Many noticed just how much Ben and his famous grandfather Elvis looked alike. Mother Lisa would address the similarities between her father and her son by saying, “Ben does look so much like Elvis. She also recalls when Ben was at the Opry and was the quiet storm behind the stage.” Lisa added “ Everybody turned around and looked when he was over there. Everybody was grabbing him for a photo because it is just uncanny.” She even wrote a song about Ben called “Storm and Grace.” Storm is Ben’s middle name.
Music runs in the family.
Ben was also a musician, even striking a record deal back in the year 2009 that was worth $ 5 million.
One of his final known appearances.
Ben In one of the last times that he was seen with his family during his grandfather’s Elvis Presley’s 40-year death anniversary at a vigil at Graceland.
Again this is such horrid news to hear as Ben was only 27 years of age. Mental health is a serious illness and should never be taken lightly. We here at AEE offer our sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Benjamin Keough.
