Union midfielder Brendan Aaronson has been transferred to RB Salzburg on a record deal. Aaronson, 19, will finish the ongoing campaign with Philadelphia and then join up with Salzburg when the transfer window opens in January.
According to sources the initial fee is $6 million with an additional $3 million paid to the Union if certain incentives are met. One source characterized the add-ons as “very realistic.” Union will also receive between 10% and 20% of any future transfer, depending on how long Aaronson plays for Salzburg. Aaronson was one of the three Union players to come up the homegrown side and is a sign that Union is heading in the right direction of grooming talent.
He should be successful over in Salzburg and Barcelona will be watching in case he impresses over there because they are in need of talent now. Good luck to Brendan on his career on Europe.
