In a move that doesn’t surprise many, Steve Levy, Brian Griese, and Louis Riddick will be taking over the as the new Monday Night Football announce team.
ESPN has had plenty of turnover with their Monday Night Football announcing team over the past few seasons. First Jon Gruden left to return to the sidelines and then after a year in the booth, Jason Witten decided to return to the field for the Cowboys.
Now while many consider the Joe Tessitore and Booger McFarland era a massive failure, I think they just were victims of bad circumstances.
ESPN reportedly showed interest in guys like Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, and Brett Favre. Manning declined, Brees is still going strong on the field, and rumors have it that Favre stunk up the joint on his audition. They even tried and failed to lure Tony Romo away from CBS.
While there has been change over the past two seasons and as bad as the announce team and/or slate of games in 2019 was. Monday Night Football was still the most viewed show on television and will continue to be as long as there is a football season this year.
