John Carpenter released some sad news this afternoon as Halloween Kills starring Jamie Lee Curtis has been moved to an October 14th, 2021 release date. (You can see the Halloween Kills trailer below).
In an official statement from Carpenter and director David Gordon Green,
“If we release it in October of this year as planned, we have to face the reality that the film would be consumed in a compromised theatrical experience. After weighing our options, we have chosen to push the film’s theatrical release by one year.”
The film is set to take over where the last movie Halloween (2018) movie left off. The plan was for Halloween Kills to release in 2020 and the last movie of the trilogy, Halloween Ends to release a year later in 2021.
On the flip side, some positive news to report, according to All Everything Entertainment’s Kyle Cole Jordan Peele’s Candyman will be taking the spot of Halloween Kills. (You can see the Candyman trailer below).
