Being that the entire month of February is known as Women in Horror Recognition Month, I would like to recognize Jen and Sylvia Soska as two of Hollywood’s most twisted and talented filmmakers out there.
The fact that they are identical twins and share the same morbid views on entertainment is enough to keep fans cheering.
Their most recent film Rabid unleashed a satisfying amount of bloodshed about an unknown virus that turns people into bloodthirsty fiends.
Most of their films, they act, produce, and star in as well as performing their own stunts.
Their debut film called Dead Hooker in a Trunk. This indie movie played at a few underground film festivals and became a sensational hit and had won quite a few awards. The girls were then able to create their own film company label called Twisted Twins Productions, that since then has opened the door for many projects of theirs.
One that is more notably popular is their body horror movie called American Mary. This film showed more of a nastier and more realistic side to body modification and since it has been a cult favorite.
They have both even teamed up with WWE films to do a See No Evil 2 sequel in which they released WWE wrestler Kane upon a suspecting audience and then teamed up with WWE again for the action thriller called Vendetta that starred WWE superstar the Big Show.
In 2015 they began a horror-themed reality show called Hellevator. On this show, teams of 3 competed in horror-themed challenges for a cash prize, sadly the show was short-lived. Both sisters have also done several short films as well.
You can see them next playing in a horror western called Crimson Creek about a serial killer who terrorizes a small town. Another upcoming flick they are in is called Death Rider in the House of Vampires.
Fans will be excited to know that the girls are currently working on an 80s themed slasher film that they both will be directing.
You can also check out these lovely ladies on Twitter and look forward to many more projects of theirs.
