Leeds United announced their second signing of the transfer window today with German CB Robin Koch signing from SC Freiburg.
Koch, who played 81 times for Freiburg scoring 4 goals, has signed on to a 4-year deal. He is the replacement to last season’s star player Ben White who returned after his loan spell to parent club Brighton.
The 24-year-old has 2 senior appearances for the German national side and made his breakthrough with SV Eintracht Trier before moving to hometown club #1. FC Kaiserslautern, whom he spent time with during his youth career.
After impressing in his 27 appearances in #2. Bundesliga during the 2016/17 campaign, Koch was snapped up by top-flight side SC Freiburg.
Koch has been announced for the German national side that will travel to take on Switzerland and Spain in the next few weeks, which means he will face off against fellow new team mate Rodrigo if both feature for their respective countries.
Bielsa had stated that he was only looking to sign one extra CB, and with this signing complete it makes the rumored move for Luiz Felipe look uncertain but may still be a reality.
