Manchester United look to set to agree a loan move, with a view to a permanent deal, for 24 year old Andreas Pereira. The midfielder has been seen a surplus to requirements at Old Trafford and a move to Lazio looks to be impending.
Joining Manchester United in 2014, Pereira has been subject to two loan moves in the passed both coming in the form of La Liga sides, Granada and Valencia. However, playing 141 games in his entire senior career, 75 of those coming for Manchester United, and only managing 10 goals, Pereira has failed to string a run of performances together.
Oftern criticised last season as not being able to play to the standard needed for Man United, Pereira received backlash from the fans online. Many asked for Pereira to leave the club stating that he wasn’t at a level high enough to play in the Premier League.
However, Lazio are looking to sign the Brazilian international and hopefully turn his career around. Pereira’s wages would be split between the two clubs for the first season before a €27 million move the next season. Pereira is reported to want the move to go through and is looking for more first team football over in the Serie A.
Lazio finished 4th in the league last season with inform Ciro Immobile picking up 36 goals in 37 matches for the club. Having qualified for the Champions League and starting this season campaign with a 2-0 win over Cagliari, Lazio are looking for depth in their squad and players who have played at the top level.
With Lazio looking to have this deal sorted before next weekends games against Inter Milan, they have been looking for a midfielder after losing out on David Silva in the summer. Medicals are set to take place this week.
