Manchester United have agreed a contract with former Napoli and PSG striker Edinson Cavani. The Uruguayan will now fly to Manchester for a medical.
Cavani left PSG in June after his contract ran out and he left PSG under a cloud following a disagreement with Neymar and feels he has more to give to European football.
He has scored a total of 341 goals in 556 club games. Included in that are a club record of 200 goals in 301 appearances for PSG. He has also scored 50 goals in 116 internationals for Uruguay.
The deal is understood to not be an increase on his salary from his last contract at PSG. Manchester United have been under criticism of wages since the signing of Alexis Sanchez. The Chilean was given a £350,000 a week contract after his move from Arsenal.
Cavani’s first game for United could be the Champions League tie against PSG on the 20th October in Paris.
