New England Patriots Fined Again
The NFL has fined the New England Patriots once again after their innocent last season. The Patriots film crew was caught filming at a Cincinnati Bengals practice. The penalties for the Pats include a 1.1 million dollar fine and forfeiting a 2021 3rd round draft pick. Also, the Patriots television production crew will not be allowed to film any games during the 2020 season. David Mondillo, who has been suspended from the team, has also been banned from all NFL facilities until further notice.
This is the third incident with the New England organization that has to led to fines. Spygate, Deflategate, and now this. The production crew admitted to accidentally filming the Bengals practice to the NFL when Jay Glazer from Fox Sports obtained a video of a confrontation between a Bengals coach, and one of the members of the Patriots film crew.
NFL Commissioner Rodger Goodell stated:
“Our responsibility is to make sure we’re being extremely thorough. We have a responsibility to 31 other clubs, we have a responsibility to partners. We have a responsibility to fans to understand all of what happened, and to make sure that something that we don’t know happened didn’t happen.”
