Game 3 was dominated by Vegas on the shooting front, however, the final score suggested otherwise. After a scoreless 1st period that saw the Knights out-shoot the Stars 12-4, Jamie Oleksiak got the Stars on the board late in the 2nd at 19:43. In the 3rd period, the Knights came shooting again out-shooting the Stars 18-4. Shea Theodore tied things up at 3:49 on the power play. However, Jamie Benn would give the Stars the 2-1 lead at 7:35. Mark Stone tied things up again at 12:46 on a questionable goal that was reviewed for possible goalie interference. The call on the ice was a goal and that’s how it would remain; forcing this game to go to overtime.
In the dying seconds of the 3rd, the Stars came in on a giveaway at the Knights blue line and Lehner was forced to make an awkward save that saw him grimace and struggle to get back to his feet. One can only wonder how much impact that play had, as 31 seconds into overtime, Alex Radulov scored blocker side with a wicked wrister off the post and in. Lehner appeared to have been caught off guard and looked uncomfortable on the save attempt. Stars take a 2-1 series lead with Game 4 scheduled Saturday at 8pm ET.
