WWE’s Black and Gold NXT brand has finally gotten it’s revenge on AEW and for the first time ever NXT absolutely dominated AEW in the Wednesday Night rating war this week.
According to reports NXT easily won over AEW, making it NXT’s first victory in the ratings since April 9th’s Episode on the USA Network.
Dynamite brought in an average viewership of 633,000, that was down 18% from 772,000 last week. Dynamite was coming in at Number 17 in the Top 150 for original cable telecasts among the targeted demographic for ages 18-49.
However, over on USA NXT was able to reach up to 786,000 viewers, which was up 5% from their 746,000 households reached just last week.
NXT has been gaining momentum on its competition over on TNT but this week was finally the week that they got the big win. With the main event that featured Keith Lee, Finn Balor, and Johnny Gargano for the North American title while AEW featured Matt Hardy, Chris Jericho, and Orange Cassidy it is no surprise that NXT won.
It’ll be interesting to see how things develop on Wednesday nights in primetime. Especially now with more cases of COVID occurring in Florida.
Next week NXT is looking to counter AEW’s big event Fyter Fest with The Great American Bash. It appears like just like AEW’s big event that NXT will also put on the Bash for two weeks.
We have seen this all go on before between the two wrestling companies and Vince McMahon was the winner. Will Vince go over TNT again? Only time will tell but it sure is nice having two fun wrestling programs on Wednesday nights!
