The Los Angeles Chargers have traded offensive tackle Russell Okung to the Carolina Panthers for offensive lineman Trai Turner. It was a move that was ultimately going to be made since it allows the Chargers to save 11 million dollars in cap space in 2020.
This is a move that makes sense since new Panthers offensive line coach Pat Meyer worked for the Chargers from 2017-2019, and he has been pushing Carolina to trade for his former left tackle.
Okung has played his last three seasons with the Chargers while Turner has been with the Panthers since his rookie season in 2014.
Two big boys switching teams today. A move that should benefit both teams.
What’s your take on the swap of big uglies??
