A new horror film has hit Amazon Prime just in time for the Halloween season. This new indie flick is called Fear Pharm and for a smaller budget film it wasn’t half bad.
The premise is pretty simple. Four teens attend a Halloween corn maze with the promise of winning money if they can make it through the maze by a certain time. So the teens really get into this contest and quickly split up. They discover the corn maze is filled with scares and gags, and are unaware that some of the bodies in the maze are real and that the people running the event are a family of crazed killers.
What starts out as an awesome stalk and slash film quickly descends into a captive and sadistic torture movie which i felt kind of took away from the film.
I much would of rather seen them being out in the cornfield for the whole movie and being hunted down. Instead, the kids are quickly captured and like most other horror movies, are restrained and tortured.
Definitely has some good scares and a nice amount of blood and gore. For a small budget film, the acting was also quite good. Alot of teenage dialog and definitely some campy humor in parts.
I will say that this movie is a nice addition to the whole Halloween season.
