The Beach Boys Songs became America’s Summer Anthems!!
No other Band had ever captured the images of the “Southern California” lifestyle quite as much as the Beach Boys did through their music. Their songs were about surfin, the ocean, fast cars, and pretty girls. Don’t forget the Beach, obviously!
The group’s origins began in 1961 in Hawthorne, California. The original members consisted of Brian Wilson, Dennis Wilson, Carl Wilson, Al Jardine, and Mike Love. The early to mid-1960s showed that early vision of this legendary rock band.
California Girls What an incredible song!!
This was one of those songs that took you to the beaches of California. The message in the lyrics was musically clear, even though the band met some beautiful women around the world. None still were as good as those native “California Girls.” One of my favorites for sure.
The catchy lyrics and brilliant melodies were so good. Don’t forget about that awesome harmony between each member.
Surfin’ USA!! This one just makes you want to dance.
It was this very song, that started the surfin music craze across the United States. This big hit for the band was a surfer’s anthem. Much like a lot of rock n’ roll in the ’60s. Something about this genre of music wanted to make you not only sing but dance away, till we all felt as if we were really the Surfin’ USA.
Whenever I go on a family vacation trip to the beach. One of the cd’s that has to be packed is The “Beach Boys” Greatest Hits.
Just by listening to each classic it really takes me back to a fun time, also helps myself get into the summer mood at the beach.
