The new horror flick The Wretched was released on demand this week and it was awesome! It is about a witch that lives underneath a tree in an underground tomb and needs to feed on children.
The Wretched stars John-Paul Howard, Piper Curda, Jamison Jones. Howard’s career started at the age of seven when he auditioned for Snow White and the Seven Dwarves in Huntsville AL. His charismatic charm and ability to adapt to different situations enables him to produce quality and believable characters. Curda is an actress, known for Rule the Mix (2011), I Didn’t Do It (2014), and Save the Date (2013). Curda is one of five siblings who all work in the entertainment industry. She plays the role of Jasmine on Disney Channel’s I Didn’t Do It. She previously recurred on Disney Channel’s ANT Farm in the role of Kennedy Van Buren. Jones may be the most famous of the bunch as he’s had roles in many films and tv shows including Burn Notice, General Hospital, and Will and Grace.
The plot centers on a troubled teenage boy who goes to stay with his father in a tourist town. After he meets his father’s vacationing neighbors, he begins to notice that the wife undergoes a strange transformation and her two children vanish and her husband begins to act like a zombie. As the boy and a friend of his begin to investigate, they discover a witch is living inside her body.
This movie was perfectly filmed and was quite gruesome. It also had some very effective jump scares and intense scenes. The scenes with the witch were intriguing and disturbing. Plus when they showed her body and how she moved, it was pretty disgusting as well. The scenery was also a nice touch being that the movie was filmed in Michigan.
I personally thought the movie reminded me of a few others like Fright Night and Disturbia.
Yep I highly recommend this one!!
