In the UFC fans love a great knockout. The best happen suddenly and cause the crowd to go crazy. Here are the top 5 knockouts of the first half of the UFC season.
Cody Garbrandt defeats Raphael Assuncao
What a knockout this was! As you can see right before the bell rings for the round to end, Cody ducks under a Raphael haymaker and swings and connects on Raphaels Chin. This caused him to fall to the mat right away and without question ended the fight. This happened a tad before the round ended so it was scored as a knockout and put Garbrandt back in the title hunt.
Francis Ngannou defeats Jairzinho Rozenstruik
There’s nothing much here to say since this fight lasted a whopping 20 seconds. Rozenstruik landed a few leg kicks before Ngannou started coming at him. This caused the retreat that led to Francis catching him in the face as he was falling down. Whenever Ngannou catches someone they are sure to go to sleep!
Jan Blachowicz defeats Corey Anderson
In the main event from UFC Fight Night in February, we had a 2 plus minute fight that ended with a bang. In the middle of these guys exchanging shots, Corey Anderson went to duck and Jan thru an undercut that caught Corey square and sent him to the floor instantly for the loss. As the commentators said clearly when you allow Jan Blachowicz to connect to the head the fight usually doesn’t last much longer.
Sean O’Malley defeats Eddie Wineland
This fight took place in early June and in vintage Suga fashion he unleashed a fury of kicks and punches that left Wineland reeling. Then as quick as a punch can be thrown, Sean sent Eddie down with a vicious hook and ended the fight. This could be the fight that makes a name for Suga Sean O’Malley.
Herbert Burns defeats Nate Landwehr
One of my favorite knockouts of the year for the sheer reason it was a knee knockout. While these two fighters were going back and forth, Herbert leaned up with his knee and caught Nate in the face. That ended the fight as he collapsed to the mat. Landwehr was out cold and Burns was able to recover from the encounter and score the victory.
