Tottenham Hotspur have signed Benfica and Brazilian striker Vinicius on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.
The inital loan move will cost Spurs €3 million but if his move to London is successful the Brazilian will sign a 4 year deal seeing him stay until 2025.
Manager Jose Mourinho has been looking for a new striker during the transfer window and has been linked with the likes of Cavani, Milik and Dost. However, Spurs have settled on the powerhouse from Benfica and will look to have his medical completed by next week.
The permanent deal has been rumoured to be in the region of £41 million. Vinicius did secure a move to Napoli in 2018 but never made an appearance for the club. Loan spells at Rio Ave FC and Monaco before moving to Benfica on a permanent basis in 2019.
Vinicius scored 24 goals in 49 games during his time in Portugal and will look to bring this form to London. Although he will be playing as a back up striker to Harry Kane, Spurs have had a string of bad injuries over the last few seasons that may see him play more games than first anticipated.
