I’ve had this night circled on my calendar for a long time because Chicago’s Kylie Rae took on Champion Tessa Blanchard at Warrior Wrestling’s Stadium Series. Brian Cage, Thunder Rosa, Joey Janela and The Rascalz were also on this stacked card. If you missed it, the show is still available on FITE TV. Otherwise, find out what you missed in our Warrior Wrestling’s Stadium Series Night 1 results.
D) Travis Titan def. Crash Jaxon
This was a very fun match to start the action. I particularly enjoy Titan every time I see him.
– Frank The Clown promos
The show was peppered with Frank the Clown video’s because he was upset about not being booked on the show.
1) Daga def. Isaias Velazquez
Daga must have had a plan because he worked Velazquez’s leg from the bell. Isaias regained some momentum but it was quickly extinguished. Daga caught Isaias out of the air, hit him with a Death Valley Driver and consequently scored the victory. There was a nice sign of respect between the two after the match.
2) Filthy Tom Lawler def. Keven Ku
I love Lawler’s entrance because he comes out to Hangin’ Tough by New Kids on the Block. This was an interesting match because it was mostly mat-based. They reversed each other until Lawler hit Ku with a knee. Lawler finished Ku off with a slam and earned a victory as a result. Lawler looked like he’d continue the attack after the bell but it was just a sneaky hug.
3) Thunder Rosa def. Kimber Lee
You could tell that these ladies were bringing the heat because you could hear strikes in the open air of the stadium. Kimber Lee had control but missed top rope senton. This led to a Thunder Driver finish and victory for the NWA women’s champion.
4) #1 contenders match- WARHORSE def. Joey Janela
Janela seemed to be taking WARHORSE lightly in this match. He even stopped to impersonate WARHORSE for example. Janela scored a 50 yard TD and spiked WARHORSE in the end zone. Despite the beating, WARHORSE refused to concede victory. A flustered Janela contemplated what to do next and got caught in a roll-up. WARHORSE will face the champion, Brian Pillman Jr, next week. A disappointed Janela was also attacked post-match by masked assailants who will address the fans next week. Fittingly the rain started pouring and delayed the show.
5) Alex Shelley def. TJP
I don’t envy these men because they had the tough task of feeling out the environment after the rain delay. It seemed like it was bothering them but they’re still technical masters. After multiple counters, Shelley pinned TJP with a roll-up. I’m not sure they got the finish they were looking for but still a fun match. I enjoy it when wrestlers are restricted because it makes them be more creative. Both wrestlers also addressed the crowd after.
6) Elayna Black def. Dan The Dad
I can relate to Dan The Dad because he refused to start the match until he had his coffee. I also require caffeine for my daily activities. Of course, the coffee ends up in Dan’s face. Black gained control by using some sort of voodoo or hoodoo, I’m not sure which. Dan also tried to lay down the law with his belt. In the end, Black was victorious with a DDT. I believe that was a little history being made because it was the first intergender singles match in Warrior Wrestling.
7) Brian Cage def Ben Carter
Ben Carter had control early because of his speed and agility. However, Cage’s power took over. Multiple times Cage caught Carter out of midair. Carter hit a Phoenix Splash and consequently got a two count. Carter was resilient but could not survive a Drill Claw from the triumphant Cage.
8) The Rascalz vs Myron Reed, Chris Bey, and Jordan Oliver
This was an “Owen Wilson” match because you spent most of it saying “wow”. They had what I’d describe as a flying cutter contest for example. They had the entire crowd laughing because they wrestled in slow motion for a period. Rascalz wanted Bey the whole match and they got him with a rack/stomp combination. After their victory, it was announced that we will get an all Rascal #1 contender triple threat match next week.
9) Warrior Wrestling Women’s Championship- Kylie Rae vs Tessa Blanchard (C) 👍Match of the Night👍
The crowd was certainly behind home town star Kylie Rae. Kylie got cold feet after watching Blanchard’s entrance and tried to avoid starting. Blanchard literally kicked Kylie around the field. Blanchard tried to use Kylie’s backpack as a distraction but it was unsuccessful. A top rope suplex was blocked sending both wrestlers off the turnbuckle. During the following exchange, Kylie caught Blanchard in a roll-up and became the new champion as a result. What a captivating story Kylie’s recent journey has been.
This was a great show because of all the people involved. I can’t say enough about how Warrior Wrestling puts on a show you can feel safe at during this pandemic. We at All Everything Entertainment would like to congratulate the new champion, Kylie Rae. That’s all for Warrior Wrestling’s Stadium Series Night 1 results but tickets are still available for night 2. Also, stay tuned to All Everything Entertainment for your wrestling news.
