Hey guys it’s Chris Daley here. Thanks for reading my first article on AEE. Big slate of games today across college football. Let’s take a look at my week 5 College Football ATS picks.
13 Texas A&M vs 2 Alabama (-18)
We’re at it again! Jimbo vs Saban matchup! Always highly anticipated but has yet to meet the hype. After a sluggish game to start the year, Alabama will continue to show its dominance and control the clock this game. They will Pound the football with Najee Harris, who had 3 touchdowns vs Missouri last week and limit Kellen Mond who hasn’t yet become an elite quarterback that A&M has wanted him to be.
I’ll take the Crimson tide -18 with a 41-17 final.
TCU vs TEXAS (-10)
The battle of Texas! TCU comes into this game having won 5 of the last 6 contests against Texas dating back to 2014 with a margin of victory of 26ppg. It’s really hard to back Texas in this game after seeing Texas Tech move up and down the field at will on them last weekend. if it wasn’t for a late 15 point comeback with 4 minutes to play, which included an onside kick, they would be staring at an 0-1 start. 10 points is a lot to give and I feel comfortable with that cushion to start the game.
I’ll take the frogs +10 but they will lose a close one 37-30.
Arkansas vs Mississippi State (-16.5)
Mike Leach said he questioned reality when it came to the carboard cutouts in the crowd and how even the cutouts could get screwed by being put in the nose bleed section lol. I’m questioning reality after their shocking win vs LSU last week and even though it was an impressive win this has “flat spot” written all over it and I think Arkansas will hang tough just like they did in the first half against Georgia last week.
I’ll take Arkansas +16.5 but Miss State will win comfortably but fail to cover 38-24.
7 Auburn vs 4 Georgia (-7.5)
This one most likely will be the game of the week and I expect a grind it out dog fight for sure. I can see this game going down to the wire and also expect to Malzahn to pull all the stops with some trickery to keep Georgia on their toes. Bo Nix will have to play a lot better than the sub 60% that he converted the first game. Georgia will have transfer JT Daniels making his debut this week after Heisman hopeful Jamie Newman opted before the season. I expect a slow start from Daniels and expect them to lean on the running game and good defensive play.
I’ll take Auburn +7.5 but lose a tight one 20-17.
