Starting in 2006, we got to see WWE wrestler Kane play a vicious and gruesome killer in Lions Gate’s See No Evil.
He plays a reclusive maniac named Jacob Goodnight who hides out in a decrepit and closed down hotel while evading the police. The cop who had been hunting and injured by him, has brought a group of teenage delinquents to the hotel for community service.
Throughout the night everyone is picked off by this maniac in some overly gruesome ways such as removing the victim’s eyes. They give you an insight into his abusive past as a child at the hands of a psychotic and religious mother. The teens in this put up one hell of a fight and finally take him down.
Then in 2014, the Soska sisters revived him for See No Evil 2 starring horror fan favorite Danielle Harris. Glenn Jacobs aka Kane reprises his role as the not so dead killer.
This movie picks up exactly after the previous one ends with the bodies and the killer’s body being taken to a nearby medical center where some employees are working late in the morgue. Our heroine of the movie, Danielle Harris’s pack of friends surprise her that night in the morgue with a birthday party. Her friends are quickly intrigued by the massive massacre and that they have the maniacs body there. Suddenly Jacob Goodnight comes back to life and resumes his sick and depraved killing spree.
This sequel was pretty good and extremely well done with having it take place in a dark morgue. Although nowhere as gruesome and nasty as the first one though.
I highly recommend both films especially getting to see Kane play a maniacal villain!!
