Tonight, Mad Max will take the bump for the Nationals, as they host the Brewers, in a winner take all Wildcard game. The cardiac kid, Brewers will counter with Brandon Woodruff. A lopsided matchup to say the least. Yet nothing can be taken lightly or for granted in these types of games.
The Brewers will have to rely heavily on a bullpen that was one of the best. In hopes of shutting down one of the premier offenses in the game. It will be a tall task for Milwaukee facing Scherzer. They tend to strike out way too much and are missing a guy by the name of Yelich. But they still possess a punchers chance.
The only way the Nationals can really blow this game is if they make boneheaded pitching moves. Let Max go for as long as you can, and use only Doolittle or Hudson. Playing Russian roulette with the other cast of characters could spell disaster. The other alternative is possibly using Corbin or Strasburg. That is a great idea. It seems foolproof, right? T
The Brewers are banking on destiny and some luck to take this one. I believe they’ll fall short.
A great story nonetheless. Nats and Dodgers anyone?
