AFC EAST Week 3 Recap
Patriots 30 (W)/ Jets 14
Well, this game had a lot of Tom Brady being Tom Brady. Brady was 28-42 306 yards 2 TDs, no Antonio Brown, no problem. We can’t help but feel bad for Head Coach Adam Gase who lost his QB before week 2’s primetime match up and then lost his backup QB in that game as well. The Jets started 3rd string QB Luke Faulk was a mixed bag and throwing for only 98 yards. He got no help from the run game. Le’Veon Bell had 18 carries for 35 yards. This Jets team is screwed as teams are going to load the box to stop Bell. With Falk, the Jets will have no semblance of a passing attack. The Jets are as I predicted them to be before the season started a big clusterf*#K.
The Patriots were dominant on offense and defense for the third straight week. The Patriots continue to blow teams out by large margins. They got rid of the drama that comes with Antonio Brown and the offense didn’t miss a step. The Patriots will coast to another division title in lieu of the Super Bowl. A battle of 3-0 teams this weekend as the Patriots travel to Buffalo to play the Bills.
Dolphins 6/ Cowboys 31 (W)
The Josh Rosen era didn’t get off to a hot start but it wasn’t horrible either. Rosen finished the day 18-39 200 yards but no TDs. On the positive side of things he had no interceptions, so at least he protected the ball a bit more than FitzTragic.
However, this Miami team had a tall order going into this game. The rumors of this team tanking can no longer be ignored. We have seen; Robert Quinn, Cameron Wake, Kiko Alonzo, Minkah Fitzpatrick, Laremy Tunsil, and Kenny Stills traded away already. With the 6 points they scored on Sunday the Dolphins now have only managed to score 16 points on the entire season. This by far is the worst team I’ve ever seen in football and we’ve had the 0-16 Lions as well as the 0-16 Browns. This Dolphins team is worse than both of those teams. The road to 0-16 continues as the Dolphins host the 1-2 Chargers on Sunday.
Bengals 17/ Bills 21 (w)
The energy in Buffalo is real right now! The Bills jumped out to an early lead 11-0 after their defense forced 2 turnovers. Andy Dalton had thrown for just 8 yards late into the 2nd Qtr. As good as this Bills team played though, they found themselves in a dog fight late in the game. Cincy came fighting back to take the lead in the fourth quarter 17 to 14 with 6 minutes remaining. The Bills would get the ball back and Allen like much of the game would find tight end Dawson Knox, who would rumble all the way to the goal line. The drive was capped off by Frank Gore.
Cincy’s late game push was ended by Tre White’s 2nd pick of the game, off of a deflected pass. Allen finished the game 23-26 243 Yards 1 TD 1 Int, Gore finished with 14 carries 76 yards and a score. HUGE game for the Bills next week as they host the 3-0 Patriots for first place in the AFC East.
