The Royal Rumble is this weekend and we are expecting big things!! Let’s take a look at Five Possible Outcomes for the 2020 Men’s Royal Rumble Match!
5. Edge Returns and Wins
Now, this is a bit of a long shot while it could happen it’s not very likely. Rumors have been floating around for a couple of months that Edge has signed a new deal and is cleared for in-ring competition. Edge was spotted in Pittsburgh getting evaluated at the place where the WWE specialists reside. This got the rumors about him returning to the ring flowing. It’s possible if they want to pull off a big shock at the Rumble this is the way to go because let’s face it Punk isn’t returning at the Rumble.
4. An NXT Superstar Wins
This would be cool as this would be the first time in Rumble history an NXT star would win the Rumble. Now the question is who would win it? We have people like Adam Cole who would no doubt be a heavy favorite. We have Pete Dunne who would be a solid choice to win. I would be down for a Lesnar and Dunne showdown at Mania if this happened. And we also have other loved superstars such as Keith Lee, Tomasso Ciampa, Velveteen Dream, and others on the NXT roster.
3. Seth Rollins Wins or the Second Year in a Row
Ok, let’s be honest here, Rollins winning again wouldn’t settle well for the Houston crowd. Last year when Rollins won it the crowd was behind him. This year that wouldn’t be the case. This is interesting to me because if Rollins wins the Rumble he will face Lesnar again which really would more than likely get shit on by Tampa at Mania. Roman had the same issue when he won it 5 years ago. But now Rollins has the same problem. I wouldn’t really be shocked if Vince picked Rollins again. I mean, he is a heel so if he gets booed, so be it. It’s worth the risk in my opinion and I honestly wouldn’t mind it.
2. Drew McIntyre Wins
Ever since McIntyre made his return to the main roster two years ago he really hasn’t been involved in top storylines. Last year McIntyre was the favorite to win the Rumble but Rollins won it instead. This past couple of weeks he has been teasing a face turn. So it comes to no one’s surprise that he’s a favorite yet again this year. In my opinion, it’s his time to shine. It would even make him look better if he eliminated Lesnar starting their feud. McIntyre would be a great champion he’s been getting over lately so for him winning the Rumble would be best for business.
1.Roman Reigns Wins
Here we are again. Roman is heavily favorited to win this year’s men’s Royal Rumble match. Since he returned last year he hasn’t been in many major feuds. He was kept out of the title picture for a year which got fans behind him. Which I have to admit was a smart move by Vince. But honestly, Reigns needs to win here. Whether people like it or not he’s the top guy they need right now to win. A Fiend and Reigns feud will be interesting.
