Giancarlo Stanton Injured

Breaking News: Giancarlo Stanton is injured. The news broke earlier today that New York Yankees outfielder, Giancarlo Stanton, will miss opening day with a Grade 1 Calf Strain. The 30-year-old will be shut down for at least a couple weeks, manager Aaron Boone told reporters at George M. Steinbrenner Field on Wednesday. That might not leave him enough time to prepare for Opening Day, Boone said.

The possible replacements outfielders consists of Mike Tauchman, Clint Frazier and Miguel Andujar. There will be plenty of opportunities for outfield play as there have been multiple injuries, including Aaron Judge.

The news also broke a few days ago that Luis Severino was going to need Tommy John surgery. A few weeks ago, James Paxton hurt his back and that left the rotation short. It has not been a good start to spring training for Bronx Bombers when it comes to injuries. Hopefully, they are not bit by the injury bug, like they did in 2019.
