Houston Astros: What’s on Tap Tonight

Justin Verlander goes for career Strikeout 3000 (only 6 away) and strikeout 300 for the season (only 12 away). He also could finish the season with 21 wins, which would clinch the Astros having the best record in MLB.

Verlander takes the mound in Anaheim and faces the third hardest team to strike out in all of baseball. This game is just a tune-up start before Game 1 of the ALDS. I would be surprised to see him go past the 6th inning unless he’s at 10 strikeouts. I don’t think a season of 300 K’s is that important. He is 2-1 4.91 ERA with 18 strikeouts against the Angels this year. LAA is the only team to match Justin Verlander’s season-high of 4 Earned Runs, which they did twice. Good Luck to Verlander and we look forward to celebrating that 3000th Strikeout tonight.

Justin, If you could make #3000 Albert Pujols, that would be the best thing ever for us Astros Fans. Tune in at 6:07 PM PST for the first pitch and watch history unfold before your very eyes.
