Days after NBC gave the green light to the new series La Brea they released a familiar face from the show. Jon Seda fans will know him as former Chicago P.D. officer Antonio Dawson but he left the show unexpectedly without a real goodbye. The only mention was he left the force to go to Puerto Rico to help his sister Gabby with her volunteer work she was doing.
Seda wasn’t the only one to be let go as the majority of the cast was let go, with only Natalie Zea and Zyra Gorecki being kept on.
The departures happened because the show was moved to production in 2021 due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Actors’ who are under contracts for pilots only last a certain amount of time, and the La Brea cast’s contracts were due to expire on Tuesday, June 30.
Rather then extend them out that long to cover the new schedule for shooting and having to pay them until then, the network opted to release the actors.
If they are still available when La Brea starts shooting which hasn’t been decided on yet, they could be invited back to play the parts they were originally hired for.
It is not guaranteed. It’s also possible that the producers decide to recast with other actors, and Jon Seda is under no obligation to return to La Brea even if he is asked.
Will we still see Jon Seda as the lead in La Brea when it premieres on NBC in 2021? Stay tuned to All Everything Entertainment for more news as it breaks!!!
