Mike Tomlin has Already Locked up Coach of the Year

The Pittsburgh Steelers started this season 0-3 and when Ben went down and it looked like this would be a lost season. That is not the case. With four games left to go the Steelers are currently sitting at 7-5 and find themselves in the hunt for the 6th playoff spot in the NFC. There is one man who deserves all the credit in the world for this. Mike Tomlin. This is arguably his best coaching job ever. No Bell, no Brown, no Ben, an injured JuJu and Connor and it still doesn’t matter.

Coach Tomlin has this team fighting every game. The Steelers went away from backup Mason Rudolph and went to Duck Hodges and the offense has been serviceable. However, their defense is their strong suit, especially after they traded for Minkah Fitzpatrick earlier in the season. Many pundits thought the Steelers were crazy trading away a potential top ten pick for Fitzpatrick. He has proved them all wrong. TJ Watt is playing out of his mind right now too. He just locked up the AFC defensive player of the month award.

The Steelers down the stretch could be in their favor too. They have winnable games against the Jets and Cardinals. Buffalo travels int Pittsburgh in a Sunday night clash and the Steelers go to the Ravens the last game of the season in a game that may be meaningless for the Ravens. The Steelers could pull out a 3-1 stretch, find themselves 10-6 and in the playoffs.

When that happens Mike Tomlin is your coach of the year.
