On This Day in Entertainment and Wrestling (2/13/20)
We are so excited to take a look at what happened on this day in history. Some very interesting facts about this day, February 13th. Let’s get into it!
As you know if you check out Tyler’s Take, I have a soft spot in my heart for music. Big news happened on this day in history. Feb. 13, 1961, in the musical world.
Ole Blue Eyes Frank Sinatra, launched his reprise label under Warner Bros Records.
Frank had many classic hits. The Chairman sang, ‘Strangers in the Night and My Way just to name a few. Sinatra is one of my favorites of all time. The Smooth tone of his voice was one of a kind. He is a singers’ singer. I absolutely adore the song Fly Me to the Moon. It connects deeply with the soul.
On this day in Hollywood, Feb. 13, 2017, Award-Winning Actor Harrison Ford was involved in a near disaster while flying a plane at John Wayne Airport, in Orange County, California. We are so thankful, Ford survived. I’m going to tell you a few of my favorite Harrison Ford films. Witness, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Clear and Present Danger. There are so many others, I could go on and on. Maybe that will be the next episode of Tyler’s Take.
In Professional Wrestling, TNA Wrestling presents Against All Odds on PPV. The show took place on Sunday Feb.13, 2005 live from Orlando, Florida. A mainstay for TNA Impact at the time. If you are not familiar with this promotion, let me run-down some of the big superstars on the roster at the time. AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, Chris Harris and James Storm, Abyss, Samoa Joe, and many more. The card featured two huge title matches.
AJ Styles def. The Fallen Angel Christopher Daniels in a 30- minute grueling Ironman match for the NWA X-Division Title. You may be wondering why NWA, TNA still recognized NWA with their Championship Belts at the time. Styles would defeat Daniels by pinfall. These two always could work in the ring. Styles would retain his X-Division Title.
Jeff Jarrett def. Kevin Nash in a NWA World Heavyweight Title Match. It was a real battle between to veterans of the squared-circle. Jarrett retained his title at the end. TNA really put on a good show back then.
Have a great day!
