The Saints have announced that Drew Brees will require surgery and is expected to miss anywhere from 6 to 8 weeks. This is the first time Brees has missed time due to injury since 2015.
The Saints will turn to former Vikings first round pick Teddy Bridgewater. Bridgewater, who in his own right is a former pro bowler. However, he hasn’t seen much action since his career-threatening injury. This is the opportunity of a lifetime for Bridgewater, who chose to resign with the Saints in the offseason instead of signing with Miami.
He now gets the chance to take over a team with Super Bowl aspirations. Bridgewater is the highest-paid backup QB in the league and it is his time to win over the Saints organization.
In Teddy I trust. In Teddy the Saints trust.
