Tomorrow or today, depending on where you live, August 31st, 2019 is the day that wrestling fans have been waiting for since WrestleMania Weekend. The three biggest wrestling promotions in the world right now, all have events on the same day. New Japan Pro Wrestling, All Elite Wrestling, and World Wrestling Entertainment all have big shows and fans will have such a busy day trying to watch every single one of them. Let’s be honest, you don’t have to choose just one. Watch all of them and plan your day if you don’t have other things to do. First off, we have NJPW Royal Quest in London, England. Then over in Wales, WWE has NXT UK TakeOver Cardiff and to cap the night, AEW has All Out in Chicago, Illinois. And that is how we at AEE are going to break down these shows. If you haven’t had a chance to read my preview of NJPW Royal Quest or of NXT UK TakeOver Cardiff, it is available now, here on AllEverythingEntertainment.com.
Let’s preview the stacked card for AEW All Out:
21-Woman Casino Battle Royale – Winner will receive a match for the inaugural AEW Women’s World Championship
AEW is trying to decide its first AEW Women’s Champion. 21 women have the opportunity to go to Philadelphia where the 1st AEW Women’s Champion live on their TNT weekly show in October. Names so far in the battle royal are Sadie Gibbs, Britt Baker, Jazz, Ivelisse and the daughter of late great WWE Hall of Famer Rowdy Roddy Piper, Teal Piper. Anyone can win this match honestly but I’m going with Britt Baker
Prediction: Britt Baker
Private Party (Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen) vs. Angélico and Jack Evans
Quickly becoming two of the most entertaining tag teams in AEW, sure some of the contenders for the AEW Tag Team Championship. I’m giving the victory to Angelico and Jack Evans.
Prediction: Angelico and Jack Evans
Luchasaurus, Jungle Boy & Marko Stunt vs SCU (Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian, and Scorpio Sky)
Six of AEW’s most talented individuals collide in a six-man tag. We know how great SCU are. Luchasaurus and Jungle Boy have been overnight sensations and Marko Stunt is great as well. This should be a fun tag team match that may just be a preview of the AEW Tag Team Championship scene in the coming months. In this match though, SCU wins.
Riho vs. Hikaru Shida
Two of the best Joshi wrestlers face off one on one. One very well could be the AEW Women’s Champion. I love Riho but I’m going with Hikaru Shida. I’m biased for Hikaru,
Prediction: Hikaru Shida
Darby Allin vs. Joey Janela vs. Jimmy Havoc
Three of the craziest bastards in AEW. Allin is nuts, Janela is nuts, Havoc is nuts. These three together will make for a wonderful match. I’m going with Havoc in this match.
Prediction: Jimmy Havoc
Best Friends (Chuck Taylor and Trent Beretta) vs. The Dark Order (Evil Uno and Stu Grayson) – Winners receive a first-round bye in the AEW World Tag Team Championship tournament
The Best Friends are a very entertaining tag team. The Dark Order is weird, to say the least, but they are decent in the ring. This match can go either way, but I believe The Dark Order gets the bye.
Prediction: Dark Order
Pac vs. Kenny Omega
Pac vs Hangman Page. Kenny Omega vs Jon Moxley. Two matchups that were scheduled to happen but always in wrestling, the card is subject to change. Pac vs Page happened outside of AEW and we are sure to have Moxley vs Omega down the line, but this match could be a show-stealer. Here’s my thing…Pac initially pulled out of AEW Double or Nothing because he was rumored to have creative frustrations with the company, most likely because he didn’t want to take the loss to Page. Has he changed since then? Because it’s not smart booking to let Omega lose here because all that hype would be for nothing. Ultimately, Omega wins.
Prediction: Kenny Omega
Lucha Brothers (Pentagón Jr. and Rey Fénix) (c) vs. The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) – Escalera De La Muerte for the AAA World Tag Team Championship
Escalera De La Muerte is loosely translated to a Ladder Deathmatch and with two of the best tag teams IN THE WORLD, this will be another possible show-stealer. I love both of these teams and it’s very hard to pick one between the other, but I believe The Lucha Brothers retain.
Prediction: The Lucha Brothers
Cody vs. Shawn Spears (with Tully Blanchard)
The continuation of the “Chair Shot Heard Around The World” angle from AEW Fyter Fest. Shawn Spears, recently freed from his WWE imprisonment, came to AEW to make a statement and at Fyter Fest, he made such a statement with a chair shot that became one of the most infamous, dangerous and arguably unprotected chair shots in wrestling history. Cody had to get multiple stitches to close his head. Now Cody is out for revenge and they will face off one on one. As an added bonus, both men are allowed “support” at ringside. Cody hasn’t named who will accompany him to the ring, but Spears has. That person will be NWA & WWE Hall of Famer and former member of the original Four Horsemen Tully Blanchard. Spears could use the win here but Cody wins.
Adam Page vs. Chris Jericho – Singles match for the inaugural AEW World Championship
Two of AEW’s top stars. One is an upcoming stud with potential to be a megastar. The other is arguably one of the GOATs of professional wrestling. One has been World Champion multiple times, the other hasn’t. Here’s the dilemma, you can make your up and comer the 1st champion or you can give the title to one of your biggest attractions. I am quite conflicted on who wins here but I think Chris Jericho will make history as the first man to ever win the WCW/World Championship, the WWE Championship and the AEW Championship. Jericho wins.
Prediction: Chris Jericho
This is the perfect way to end Super Wrestling Saturday. Should be an excellent card and regardless of your allegiances…
Whether you are a WWE fan…
Whether you are an NJPW fan…
Or whether you are an AEW fan…
Saturday is the day we all win. I am proud to be a wrestling fan and you all should as well.
Stay tuned to All Everything Entertainment for all things All Elite Wrestling.
