The AEE Fantasy Start/Sit List – DEF edition – Week 11
The Fantasy Football 2019 NFL regular season. As we close out the regular season, let’s take a look at the best starts and sits heading into Week 11 of your fantasy football matchups.
Start of the Week: Oakland Raiders vs Cincinnati Bengals
The Baltimore Ravens put an absolute beat down on the Cincinnati Bengals last week and even though they haven’t been world-beaters, the Raiders defense has played very well lately. The Raiders are going to be one of the most popular streaming options this week and I’m fully aboard that train, as I picked them up in several leagues myself. In fact, I’ll be playing the Raiders over the Patriots this week, that’s how confident I am in the Raiders.
Start – Buffalo Bills @ Miami Dolphins: Even when they’ve been winning, they’ve been great for fantasy football defenses. The Miami Dolphins are going to turn the ball over. That’s not a prediction, it’s a spoiler.
Start – New York Jets @ Washington Redskins: The Washington Redskins have declared themselves a streaming option for opposing fantasy defenses by announcing that Dwayne Haskins will be the starter for the rest of the season. Haskins has been downright awful which is in stark contrast to maligned quarterback Daniel Jones who was shredded by the media because he was taken over Haskins. That seems like an easy decision at this point in the season. You can start the Jets defense here, even on the road.
Start – Los Angeles Rams vs Chicago Bears: Mitchell Trubisky did not play well last week, despite what the stat sheets say. Trubisky was often throwing off his back foot, displaying poor mechanics that his receivers bailed him out of. The Rams defense has played better since adding Jalen Ramsey, who I expect to take on Allen Robinson often, limiting where Trubisky can push the ball. I think the Rams will be a great defensive play this week.
Start – San Francisco 49ers vs Arizona Cardinals: The Arizona Cardinals actually played pretty well the last time they faced off against the 49ers, but that was at home. This time they’ll be playing in San Francisco and I think the 49ers will be playing with an edge after suffering their first loss of the season. Kyler Murray has been prone to bad games here and there, so I like the 49ers this week.
Sit of the Week: Baltimore Ravens vs Houston Texans
The Baltimore Ravens are coming off an absolute drubbing of the Cincinnati Bengals, but now they’ll take on one of the best teams in the AFC in the Houston Texans. Deshaun Watson has played incredibly well this season and is 4th for fantasy scoring from the quarterback position. Carlos Hyde has emerged from irrelevance as a reliable volume back that the Texans have leaned on and Deandre Hopkins is who he is; a baller. I expect a competitive, high scoring matchup, so I’ll be benching both defenses this week.
Sit – Indianapolis Colts vs Jacksonville Jaguars: The Indianapolis Colts defense has played well, but the offense is sliding. I would have preferred the Jaguars stick with Gardner Minshew after how well the young quarterback has played, but I understand the move back to Nick Foles. Regardless, I have the Jaguars winning this game and both quarterbacks are capable of limiting turnovers, so I don’t think the Colts are a good streaming option this week.
Sit – Minnesota Vikings vs Denver Broncos: They might be able to stop the run, but the Minnesota Vikings have been getting torched through the air as of late. I was pleasantly surprised by how Brandon Allen performed in his last game and Courtland Sutton has emerged as a true breakout star this year. With both Sutton and Noah Fant firing on all cylinders right now, I’m sitting the Vikings defense.
Sit – New England Patriots @ Philadelphia Eagles: I could be wrong about this, but I’d rather not risk it. The Patriots will be on the road and the Philadelphia Eagles have suddenly found themselves a running game. Jordan Howard and Miles Sanders are both playing very well, Carson Wentz is a good quarterback and Zach Ertz is coming off his best game of the season. I have the Patriots in my hometown league, but this week I’ll be streaming the Raiders instead.
Sit – Chicago Bears @ Los Angeles Rams: After how Jared Goff performed against the Pittsburgh Steelers last week, you might be thinking that you can stream the Chicago Bears’ defense. However, I’d advise against that for two reasons. For one, Mitchell Trubisky has been terrible this season and I expect him to struggle in this game. The second is Jared Goff actually performs much better at home than on the road and I think he’ll bounce back in this game.
