The Beatles, Abbey Road 50th Anniversary
It was 50 years ago when the Beatles came out with their eleventh album. Abbey Road was released on September 26, 1969. Recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London, England. The album was released on the Apple Records label and was produced by legendary producer George Martin.
The album produced great singles such as Come Together, written by John Lennon, and Here Comes The Sun written by George Harrison. Abbey Road incorporated the styles of blues, pop, and progressive rock. We heard more of the synthesizer sound in the music on this album.
Abbey Road became commercially successful. The album went number 1 in both the UK and the US. This was a tense time within the group, as McCartney wanted to bring back George Martin to produce an album and to put the band back together. Their work speaks for themselves as their impact on music and culture is still here today.
There will never be anyone like them again. Their style and way of writing music was second to none. They were loved by so many and this album, in my opinion, was their greatest.
Ringo and Paul the two surviving members are still touring and tearing the house down in concerts around the world. I as many fans still own the album.
To this day, even after 50 years have gone by this album is still one of the greatest albums of all time. Thank you to The Beatles for Abbey Road. A once in a generation album.
