This afternoon the Bengals and Giovanni Bernard agree to a contract extension to tailback Giovani Bernard. The deal is worth 10.3 million and raises his salary for this season up by 6 million and 11 million total over the next two seasons. He is also set to make an extra 600K this March.
This deal is a deal that is warranted for Bernard as he is one of the most underrated backs in the league. Bernard is a guy we highlighted earlier this summer for being part of one of the best running back duos in the NFL. Bernard could start for a handful of other teams and new head coach Zac Taylor realizes this. The organization rewarded Bernard, which is nice to see.
