The Conjuring Universe continues this fall with The Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It, which is set to release on September 11, 2020, with Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson reprising their roles as Ed and Lorraine Warren.
Based on the real-life cases of the legendary demonologists who also worked on the Amityville Horror case which was briefly shown in The Conjuring 2.
The first Conjuring movie premiered back in 2013 and was a worldwide hit that warranted a sequel and several spinoffs throughout the years each connected to each previous film.
The spinoff films were standalone movies by themselves such as The Nun, The Curse, of Llorona and the three Annabelle movies.
The first Conjuring film introduces you to Ed and Lorraine Warren and shows them helping a family who is being terrorized by a demonic presence in their new country home.
The Conjuring 2 shows the Warren’s traveling to London to help a single mother of four stop a supernatural entity in their home known as the crooked man. The sequel also introduces you to the demonic spirit of a nun which soon enough turned into its own movie that showed a backstory into the demonic nun.
Now the plot of the third Conjuring flick is pretty much being kept secret and is currently being filmed in Georgia, but it has revealed that the Warren’s will assist in a murder case where the defendant claims that the devil made them kill.
The most recent Conjuring Universe flick is Annabelle Comes Home which the Warrens had a brief appearance, but the movie itself showed more of their own home that contains several possessed artifacts that they have collected and has a few new spirits set loose known as The Bride, The Ferryman and the Hellhound.
No news yet if any movies are going to be made based on those three new spirits.
The Conjuring films are excellent and rely on quite a bit of unexpected jump scares. Also, you can research the real Warren family and read more of their true life cases.
