We are less than 3 months away from Wrestle Kingdom 14 and one of NJPW’s biggest shows of the year, King Of Pro Wrestling happened this morning and it was a really amazing show. There’s way too much to break down so enough stalling…here’s what happened at King Of Pro Wrestling:

El Desperado & Yoshinobu Kanemaru vs Sho & Yoh of Roppongi 3K

Suzuki Gun faced off against Roppongi 3K in a decent Junior Heavyweight tag team match. Suzuki Gun got the pin.

Hiroshi Tanahashi & Tomoaki Honma vs Togi Makabe & Toru Yano

This match was okay nothing too much to write home about but Tanahashi and Honma get the win.

Winner: Hiroshi Tanahashi & Tomoaki Honma

Tetsuya Naito & Shingo vs DOUKI & Taichi

LIJ won this match via DQ. It didn’t last that long. Be sure that this feud will continue.

Minoru Suzuki vs Battle Liger

Two of wrestling’s biggest legends faced off in a fantastic matchup. In the end, The King of Suzuki Gun got the pin over Liger.

Chaos vs Bullet Club in this six man tag and it was a good match, but Chaos got the win.

Lance Archer vs Juice Robinson for the vacant IWGP United States Championship

Earlier in the day, Jon Moxley was stripped of the IWGP United States Championship due to travel difficulties due to the typhoon due to hit Japan, so Lance Archer was the replacement for Moxley and had a good match with Juice Robinson, in the end, Archer became the new IWGP United States Champion.

Winner: Lance Archer

Will Ospreay vs El Phantasmo for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship

Two of the most eclectic athletic wrestlers in NJPW went one on one and this was a really great match up. It went almost 30 minutes but Ospreay came out with the win and retained the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship.

Winner: Will Ospreay

Kota Ibushi vs EVIL for Ibushi’s IWGP Title Shot On The Line

The winner of the G1 Tournament just like all previous G1 winners had to put his title shot at Wrestle Kingdom 14, as Kota Ibushi faced off against EVIL of LIJ and it was a really great match. These two brought the best out of one another. Ibushi used that heart and determination that he has to prevail over EVIL, and he will still face the IWGP Heavyweight Champion in January.

Winner: Kota Ibushi

Kazuchika Okada vs Sanada for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship

Sanada has always wanted that spotlight. He has always wanted to be the leader of NJPW. He has always wanted to be the IWGP Heavyweight Champion. To do that though, he had to defeat the man he defeated in the G1, the reigning IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada. This was an excellent match. Sanada tried so hard to overcome Okada but The Rainmaker came out on top again. Okada wins.

Winner: Kazuchika Okada
