Titans and Ravens: Studs and Duds

This game has been outstanding and was just pure entertainment. Not many people saw the Titans going into Baltimore and pulling off the upset. Check out the guys who I think played well and those that left a lot to be desired.

Studs

Derrick Henry

Derrick Henry is a monster. Derrick Henry is the hottest running back in the NFL right now and the Titans are using him as such. The Ravens knew he was coming and did nothing to stop him. Henry finished the game with 30 carries for 195 yards. He added 2 catches for 7 yards and completed a 3 yard touchdown pass. Henry is the MVP of the playoffs so far.

Jurrell Casey

It is not often that a defensive lineman gets credit but Casey should be heaped with praise. Casey wrecked the running game of the Ravens and added so much pressure on Lamar Jackson. Casey registered 4 solo tackles, 2 sacks, 1 tackle for loss and a forced fumble. Casey is ultra disruptive in the interior of that d-line.

Kevin Byard

Not much went right for the Ravens and that was due to this team effort on D. Byard was a big reason that happened. Byard picked off Lamar Jackson in the first quarter and it set the tempo for the rest of the game. Byard was everywhere on the field and finished the game with 11 tackles, 1 interception and 1 pass deflection.

Hollywood Brown

Brown had a great game and was the only reliable target for Lamar Jackson. Brown is primarily known for his speed but he was all about the big play today. If a play needed to be made, it was Brown who was going to get the ball thrown to him. Brown finished the game with 7 catches for 126 yards.

Duds

John Harbaugh

This game was never as close as it seemed. Harbaugh was outcoached from the beginning and his team didn’t seem prepared for what was going to happen. The Titans hit the Ravens in the mouth from the get-off and Baltimore never recovered.

AJ Brown

We are looking at the 2nd straight week that AJ Brown has been a disappointment. AJ Brown caught 1 of 3 targets for 9 yards. He was pretty much invisible during the game, except for when he tackled Derrick Henry.

Ravens WR/TE

Jackson was pretty much a one man wrecking crew but didn’t get any help from his pass catchers. There were so many drops that it just hurt. Jackson has a bright future, but guys like Willie Snead, Seth Roberts and Nick Boyle aren’t doing anything to help.

Mark Ingram/Gus Edwards

Can someone please explain to me why Mark Ingram and Gus Edwards had 9 carries between them. Yes I know Ingram got dinged up in the first half but the play calling was atrocious. Ingram didn’t do anyone any favors by only carrying the ball 6 times for 22 yards.
