TNF Preview: San Francisco 49ers vs. Arizona Cardinals

In a divisional contest set for Halloween night, this matchup in the dessert should be interesting. It will be fun to watch two offensive gurus duel between two very young and promising signal-callers. The undefeated 49ers look to carry on their win streak against the hot Cardinals.

What to Watch For:

Kyler Murray’s Legs vs. San Francisco’s Front Seven: Murray has blazing speed. A big part of Arizona’s three wins has been Murray keeping defenses honest with his legs. However, this San Fran front seven might be the very best in the NFL and I look for them to keep Murray contained.

Richard Sherman vs. Larry Fitzgerald: It’s rare that you get to witness two future Hall of Famers go against one another but that’s what we get tonight. The NFL’s 2nd all-time leading receiver matching up against a pillar of the league’s most dangerous secondary. Both of these guys have seen better days and are far past their prime but in this NFL these two vets have found a way to reinvent themselves, so this will be fun to see.

Kenyan Drake’s Debut: Drake has got to be thrilled to be off of the tanking ship in Miami. Drake will share the backfield with star David Johnson when he returns from injury. I expect that Drake will be involved in the game plan greatly tonight, I’m predicting at least 12 touches.

Jimmy G vs. Arizona’s Secondary: Outside of Patrick Peterson, Budda Baker, and Byron Murphy I have no idea who is playing in the Arizona secondary. We haven’t seen San Fran rely on Jimmy to win games with his arm but I think Arizona loads the box tonight and forces him to do so.

Wrap-up /Predictions: I expect San Fran to win this one and keep things going. They have a division win over the Rams and a second-half slate of division games that includes a rematch with said Rams, two battles with the Seahawks, and another match with these Cardinals. Getting division wins in large part will help lead the 49ers to the division title.
