Tom Hanks Nominated for first Oscar in 20 Years

It’s been 20 years since Tom Hanks has been nominated for an Oscar. His last Oscar nomination was for Cast Away in 2000. Hanks is nominated for his role as Mr.Rogers in It’s A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood.


The Nominees were announced on Monday. This will be Hanks’ 6th nomination. He has won two Oscars so far in his legendary career. The film touched on friendship. It was written by the writer of the famous kid’s program, Tom Juno.

2020 promises to be a good year for Hanks as he already won the Cecile B. DeMille Award earlier this month and now he has a chance at his third Oscar.

This is his first nomination for Best-Supporting actor.

Other nominees are Anthony Hopkins, for the Two Popes. Both Al Pacino and Joe Pesci for The Irishman and Brad Pitt for Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.
