UFC Fight Night 162 Askren vs. Maia

UFC Fight Night 162 Askren vs. Maia is live from Kallang, Singapore on Saturday, October 26th. You can watch it on ESPN+ at 8:00 AM. The prelims will start at 5:30 AM.

In the main event of the evening, in a Welterweight fight, it’s going to be Demian Maia vs. Ben Askren. This fight will be five rounds of fury. Maia made his debut in the UFC in Oct 2007. He has been on an impressive winning streak, winning his last five fights. He has an extensive Jiu-Jitsu background. In 2012 Maia moved to Welterweight. He has 12 wins and 5 losses in this division. He is a human highlight reel. He is known for being a grappler in the Octagon. Askren will be looking to come out strong and will be looking for a huge victory. Askren’s 18-fight winning streak was put to an end by Jorge Masvidal at UFC 239. Askren is a former Olympic Wrestling Champion and a former titleholder in One Championship and Bellator. Askren is a slight favorite in this fight at -175. I feel the same as Vegas. Expect Askren to get the victory.

In a lightweight battle the co-main event features Michael Johnson and Steven Ray. Johnson comes into the fight with a record of 19-14 while Ray is 22-9. Johnson is a heavy favorite at -325 in this battle.

In Welterweight action, Muslim Salikhov and Laureano Staropoli will battle. This match has the potential to be the fight of the night and is personally the fight I’m looking forward to most. Starpoli is coming into the fight on a seven-fight win streak while Salikhov has 15 career wins. This will be a fun fight.

This show should be fun and will be highlighted by these three potentially great fights. For the full UFC Fight Night 162 Askren vs. Maia fight card check out the link below.
