Week 10 Preview and Predictions
Week 10 Preview and Predictions
Chargers 24 Raiders 26
In a highly contested AFC West battle the Raiders (5-4) bested the Chargers (4-6). Coming into this game we knew it was going to be a battle. The Raiders got to Phillip Rivers, sacking him 5 times, rookie first-round pick Clelin Ferrell is no Khalil Mack but he made his presence felt tonight getting to Rivers 3 times. This Raiders defense will have to clean up their run game. They gave up over 100 yards to Melvin Gordon but really this game was all about the Raiders defense’s great showing. It was a great win for Jon Gruden.
The Chargers again lose another close game on the road. It really is the story of their season.
Sunday Big Games
Panthers V. Packers
In America’s Game of the Week, we’ll see the visiting Carolina Panthers (5-3) travel to Green Bay for a game with the Packers (7-2). The Carolina Panthers bounced back and had a good showing against a bad Titans team, while Green Bay turned in its worst performance of the season.
Aaron Rodgers has an opportunity to really make something happen this week and he won’t have to do it alone. The Panthers surrendered a ton of yards on the ground to Derrick Henry last Sunday and Aaron Jones should do the same. I do slightly like the Panther secondary over the Packers receivers but if Davante Adams is able to play that will make things much easier for Green Bay. Green Bay on defense has to eliminate CMC from the equation. Which has been damn near impossible this season.
For Carolina, the formula is simple, GET to #12. The Chargers hit him last week and they blew up the run. I like this Panthers front seven over the offensive line. Kyle Allen needs to protect the football for the Panthers have a chance to win.
Score Prediction: Packers 34 Panthers 21
Cowboys V. Vikings
In a very interesting SNF game, we’ll get to see two teams in the NFC playoff race and possibly a preview of a playoff matchup. The Vikings (6-3) are coming off a loss last week to the Chiefs in a game they didn’t play terrible in. The defense gave up the big plays, a 53 yarder to Tyreek Hill and the 90 yard run to Damien Williams. Cousins is 6-22 in primetime games so that does him no favors here. Dalvin Cook has got to continue to have the All-Pro season he’s having and Kirk is going to have to spread the ball around to all his playmakers.
For this Cowboys (5-3) team I’m expecting a better game this week then how they played on Monday night. The formula is simple. Feed Zeke and set up play action.
Score Prediction: Cowboys 32 Vikings 35
Sneaky Good NFC Game of the Week
Seahawks V. 49ers (MNF)
A Monday night game we can all look forward to for once. In a world that is dominated by entertainment, NFL schedule makers would have never envisioned the slate of MNF games to be as bad and uninspiring as they’ve been.
The undefeated 49ers (8-0) play the Seahawks (7-2) and that has me excited for this game. The 49ers are for real and they are as good as advertised. However, this starts the stretch of their schedule when we find out how good they really are. They gave up plenty of yards to Kenyan Drake last, so the run D will need to buckle down.
The Seahawks and the 12th man are going to come into this game ready to play. The crowd is going to be wild and that will pump this defense up. Expect an energized bunch. Lockett and Metcalf will play a huge role in this game if Seattle is going to win.
For the 49ers they need to control the line of scrimmage and continue to feed their backfield. Coleman and Breida will need to play big roled for the 49ers to remain undefeated.
Score Prediction: Seahawks 23 49ers 20
