Week 13 NFL Sunday Slate

TNF Recap:

Bears (6-6) 24 Lions 20 (3-8-1)

This was a fun one to watch. Mitch looked like a complete player today. Trubisky led the Bears back to .500. A Thursday night matchup with the Cowboys looms in week 14. For Detroit, it was nice to see them be competitive in this game with David Blough playing quarterback.

Bills (9-3) 26 Cowboys (6-6) 15

The seat Jason Garrett is sitting in has to be feeling very hot at this point. His team got embarrassed on National Television by Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills. Garrett forgot he had Zeke Elliot on his team. Buffalo on the other hand had a coming-out party for themselves. This team is a legitimate contender in the AFC this year.

Saints (10-2) 26 Falcons (3-9) 18

We expected the outcome as the Saints are pressing for a bye in the NFC playoff race. The Falcons continue their downward spiral, the only positive coming out of this game for Atlanta was their special teams unit as they were able to recover two onside kicks back to back. It didn’t matter in the end as the Saints front seven sacked Ryan on four straight plays to end the game. Coming into the game there was only one onside kick recovered all season. Atlanta’s kicker Younghoe Koo was able to connect on two.

Sunday’s Slate

Sunday Preview: Hopefully you all will get to enjoy turkey day leftovers while watching Sunday games this weekend. This Sunday’s slate features a lot of interesting match-ups which gives us a lot to keep an eye. Let’s dive into the games.

The early games on Sunday are very inticing and most have playoff implications.

Steelers (6-5) Browns (5-6)

If I was the NFL schedule makers I would have moved this game to the showtime network and gave it the primetime slot. This matchup is going to be a boxing rematch. Penalty flags will be flying, helmets will be used as weapons, there will be blood…lol ok ok ok…maybe just the penalty flags.

This game is actually huge for both teams. Both are vying for that wide open 6th seed in the AFC. This is the most anticipated rematch in quite some time because of the Thursday Night disaster a few weeks ago. Rudolph and Garrett have both been removed from the equation. I want to see both teams respond and play like professionals. I’m going to pick the Browns to win this game because I don’t believe in Duck Hodges nor do I trust the banged-up Steelers offense.

Colts (6-5) Titans (6-5)

This battle will determine the winner of the 6th seed. The Colts won the first matchup in Nashville on a missed field goal. The Titans are resurging with Ryan Tannehill playing quarterback. Both teams are banged up. The Colts set to go without TY Hilton, Marlon Mack, Parris Campbell, and the recently placed on the IR Eric Ebron. The Titans have lost Malcolm Butler for the season, Delanie Walker has been placed on IR, as has Cameron Wake. I like the Titans to win this one because I think they are the healthier team.

49ers (10-1) Ravens (9-2)

The unstoppable force meets the immovable object. This game is going to be a blood bath. A rematch of the Harbaugh brothers Super Bowl. This time two completely different looking forces. Can anyone stop Lamar Jackson? NO ONE IN THE AFC CAN STOP LAMAR JACKSON. But that’s the AFC. The 49ers defense has been solid all year and if there is any team that can stop this offense it’s the 49ers. Dee Ford, DeForrest Buckner, Soloman Thomas, and Arik Armstead will give the Ravens line their biggest test of the season. They’ll only need to do just enough to win because I expect the 49ers to run the ball and drain the clock. The best way to stop an elite offense is to drain the clock and get them off the field on 3rd down. The 49ers win this one.

Chiefs (7-4) Raiders (6-5)

I think the Chiefs had a little too much Turkey and I’m going to pick the Raiders to win. I’m going to pick the Raiders for one reason. CONSISTENCY. The Chiefs have yet to show that their defense can play at a high-level week in and week out. The Chiefs defense can’t stop anybody and it is going to put a lot of pressure on the offense. The Raiders and Jon Gruden have watched every team that has beaten the Chiefs and seen what they did. Houston- Carlos Hyde won the time of possession, Indy- Marlon Mack won the time of possession, Tennessee- Derrick Henry 188 Yards. Fantasy owners start Josh Jacobs on Sunday. Raiders WIN BABY WIN!!!

Patriots (10-1) Texans (7-4)

You know for an SNF game the intrigue here is stagnant. The Patriots have won 10 games which is incredible but they aren’t that offensive powerhouse that we’ve seen. What they lack on the offensive side they make up for on the defensive side. The Texans are a division leader who could wind up watching from home in January. All creditability this team had for me went out the window when they got demolished by Baltimore. So the skinny here is which do you trust more? The Patriot offense or The Texan defense? Pats have the advantage there. When comparing the Patriot defense and the Texan offense, the Pats absolute dominate that matchup. So taking all of that into account, I’m picking the Texans to win.
