Where Will A.J. Green Play Next Season?

One of the leagues best receivers is likely to be a free agent during this upcoming offseason. Long-time Bengals wideout A.J Green is going to be testing his hand in free agency after years of mediocracy from the team that drafted him. Green has been troubled with injuries over the past few seasons and missed the entire 2019 campaign.

Whatever team Green ends up on would be a huge upgrade compared to the Bengals. Green has been hampered with Andy Dalton during his tenure with the Bengals. Rumors have it that Green would have come back this season and played if he was on a different team. Rumors were circulating around the trade deadline that he would end up in New England. If Brady stays with the Patriots that could be an intriguing fit. But I don’t see that happening. So where does he go?

There are two teams I could see him going to. The first team is the Philadelphia Eagles because they are in desperate need of a wideout. Wentz was throwing the ball to guys off the street. If the Eagles sign Green it would instantly help Wentz who’s targets struggled to run routes and catch passes all season.

The second team I could see him going to is the New York Jets. The Jets need a big play a wide receiver, and without a doubt, he could give them that. He would be a great safety blanket for Sam Darnold and help unstack the box for LeVeon Bell.

It will be interesting to see where Green ends up next season. Will the Bengals want to keep him to help Joe Burrow grow? I don’t see that happening. I expect Green and the Bengals to part ways. Keep an eye out on this situation once free agency opens up.
