Willie Taggart Fired by Seminoles

Growing up in Florida you have three big teams, the Florida State Seminoles, the University of Florida Gators and the Miami Hurricanes. All three schools have high prestige history levels. Some of the greatest names in sports and movies have all came from those schools. Guys like Burt Reynolds, Derrick Brooks, Warrick Dunn, Dwayne Johnson Michael Irvin Jim Kelly, Tim Tebow, Emmitt Smith, and many others.

Growing up in Florida you take pride in your college team. I myself am an avid Die-Hard Florida State fan dating back to the days of Derrick Brooks, Warrick Dunn, PT Willis and let’s not forget legendary coach Bobby Bowden. Unfortunately, as of late, the Florida State Seminoles Glory days are long gone. With the quick exit of Jimbo Fisher going to Texas A&M, the Florida State Seminoles have put their trust in Willie Taggartt.

In his short stint with the Seminoles, he only accomplished a 9-12 record with only a disappointing 6-9 record in conference play. As of this afternoon, the reports of Willie Taggart termination are circling the internet like sharks around chum.

I possibly see Jim Leavitt the former coach of the University of South Florida Bulls becoming the next man up. I personally, as an avid Florida State fan, have said time and time again Willie Taggart is a good coach but in the wrong conference. What’s a high-powered high pace conference that is the ACC and with the schedules of rivalry games that we have on our schedule. He really never paved his way into the Florida State legacy. I only wish a great coach like him can find a school that benefits from his knowledge and hopes that he can refine himself to build on his legacy
